We will train you in all the unique skills, tools, and concepts needed for the position. Our teachers have backgrounds in various disciplines, including visual and performance arts, but all share in the desire to inspire and empower young learners of all backgrounds.<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"p2\"><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">Teach robot-building classes\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">Manage a classroom of kids for robot-building session<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Have an encouraging demeanor, promoting confidence in kids<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Ensure the classes stay on time, and within their agreed-upon time limit<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Troubleshoot robot issues (we will teach you how!)<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Stay positive and fun under pressure!<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Quick thinking &amp; improvisation in the classroom<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Coordinate with other teachers, clients, and parents on site<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Outside of Classes\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">Learning how to build the different projects<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Traveling to different locations to teach classes<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Keeping your tools organized and stocked<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Reporting feedback to the appropriate channels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 class=\"p2\"><b>Requirements<\/b><\/h5>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">Enjoy working with children<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Love to make things with your hands (e.g woodworking, sculpture, crafts, set construction, baking, cooking, etc)<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Extremely reliable<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Are vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Patient and friendly<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Flexible<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Like having fun<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Believe in diversifying the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) classroom<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Must be able to lift 35 pounds<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Must be able to pass a CPR\/First Aid certification (we will arrange a certification class)<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Must be able to walk 1.5-2 miles per day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 class=\"p2\"><b>Preferred Experience\u00a0<\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>(not required)<\/b><\/span><\/h5>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">Teaching\/leading a classroom<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Working with children in-person (teacher, camp counselor, babysitter, etc.)<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Working with circuits<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Using power tools<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Crafting\/making things 3-dimensionally<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Using basic programming software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 class=\"p2\"><b>Location Details<\/b><\/h5>\n<p class=\"p1\">We are hiring a teacher for our Bedford Stuyvesant location. However, classes will be conducted at schools\/enrichment centers, at various locations around Brooklyn and parts of Queens.<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"p2\"><b>Schedule<\/b><\/h5>\n<p class=\"p1\">This is a Part-Time role. The number of hours per week varies. While we will try to accommodate your preferences and existing commitments, w<em>eekdays, weekends and holidays<\/em> will all make up parts of the schedule.<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"p2\"><b>Training Info<\/b><\/h5>\n<p class=\"p1\">All new teachers will go through paid training and shadow senior teachers prior to starting. Exact schedule TBD.
