We’re excited to bring awesome STEAM programs to New Jersey schools, after-schools, camps, and everywhere else there’s room to build! We’re introducing students in 3K through 8th grade to the wonders of engineering and creativity through hands-on robot building.
Classes are led by skilled instructors who introduce complex engineering principles in a simplified manner, using age-appropriate language. This same accessibility extends to the provided materials: common craft materials in combination with real electronics. This familiarity helps remove intimidation and eliminates barriers to entry for those new to robotics.
Each class features a specific robot project from the over 500 in the curriculum. Teachers guide the students through assembling the circuitry, understanding the components, and navigating the building process. Every child will build and take home their own robot each class.
Trial and error are essential components of the process, with teachers helping students understand problems and find solutions. This deeper understanding empowers children to fix, modify, and rebuild their creations. Art and creativity are equally important – students design and decorate their robots individually. And while each class has a specific project, children are always encouraged to make their robot into something all their own!
These hands-on experiences foster self-confidence, a growth mindset, and imagination, empowering students and building community.

Bringing Robot-Building to Your Students – How it Works
- Skilled Foundry instructors will bring hands-on robot-building fun right to the students. Most classes run 1 hour
- Every student will build a different robot each week, which they get to take home for more fun!*
- We provide the instructor(s), materials, tools, and robot awesomeness for an engaging and immersive experience
- Students will get to flex their creativity, gain self-confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and have fun. Lots of it!

*Students in the Robot Coders program (6th-8th grade) work together in teams and will not be able to bring home their robots after each class.
